Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Ariwis is built so that everyone — landlords and renters alike — can publish an ad, browse homes and submit a rental application, regardless of ability or assistive technology. We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

What we do

  • Semantic HTML with a single, descriptive heading structure on every page.
  • Full keyboard navigation, including dialogs, filters and the photo lightbox.
  • Visible focus indicators and skip-safe tab order.
  • Text alternatives for listing photos and meaningful icons.
  • Colour contrast ratios of at least 4.5:1 for body text.
  • Forms with associated labels and inline, text-based error messages.
  • Layouts that reflow to 320px width and support 200% browser zoom.

Known limitations

  • The neighbourhood map is a visual aid; every listing also states its address, postal code and neighbourhood in text.
  • Photos uploaded by landlords may lack descriptive alt text where the landlord did not provide one. We fall back to the listing title.
  • Documents attached to application threads are supplied by users and may not be accessible files.

Feedback and reporting

If you hit an accessibility barrier, tell us what happened, the page you were on and the assistive technology you use. We aim to respond within five working days.

Use our Contact Us form and choose the “Accessibility” subject.
